Dalian—we will need to make a much more brief presentation (10-15 mins) on the Toolkit Project than we originally thought, but that may be more suitable to the state of the project. The team agreed that we would be best represented by posting an overview document that explains both the overall scope of the project and the individual purposes of each team's proposed kit. It is estimated that the Making the Case Team and the External Communications Team will have some slides available for feedback, and that other groups are welcome to provide slides if they are able to prepare them in the time remaining.
What have groups accomplished:
- 1 Making the Case—Internal Buy-In has slides underway, has been experimenting with collaboration spaces with some difficulties (see below), and so is looking for a new posting place.
- 2 Software—has not yet met
- 3 Management—has had discussions about scope
- 4 Pedagogy—team in formation
- 5 Accessibility—team in formation
- 6 IP—team in formation
- 7 Metadata—team in formation
- 8 Content Production, Annotation and Editing—team in formation
- 9 Internal Communications—team in formation
- 10 External Communications—has been assembling ideas and resources at http://wiki.ocwconsortium.org/index.php?title=CommunicationsToolkit and will be talking this coming week about specific formats for delivery
- 11 Metrics—team in formation
- 12 Translation of OCW Materials—has not yet met
Where are the difficulties arising:
- platform issues: collaboration on Google Docs problematic because you cannot export back out again as a .ppt (as far as we can tell). So, let's revert to posting links on the wiki to materials posted elsewhere (Terri will continue to investigate options).
- communication: Terri will create smaller email lists for team members and mail out by regular email (rather than the list-serv which is web-archived)
- Josep and Tom will discuss dividing up leadership of the Software and Translation Groups
